Sungold: test
ProducerBadBob: You pass!
Sungold: :)
Sungold: One year ago we needed more police and firemen. We still need them
SYSTEM: Please welcome Jarhead who just joined the chat.
Jarhead: they don't care about saving money for law enforcement because they are already counting on and spending the sales tax increase they want voted in
Jarhead: shouldn't there be a separate group of citizens that votes on pay raises
Jarhead: an objective group
ProducerBadBob: Well the argument could be made that you elect these people to carry out the will of the voters and if they do not you replace them.
ProducerBadBob: They can be rotated out and try someone else.
ProducerBadBob: Handing off decisions to a committee is already too common.
Jarhead: but these elected officials take the opinions of the same city officials on all issues...what would change in this issue
Jarhead: and the council counts on these group votes to stay in office
ProducerBadBob: then the people need to take charge of the ballot and elect new officials who have the power to hire and fire said staff.
ProducerBadBob: we have an average 18% turnout of the voter base...we deserve what we get IMO
Jarhead: I agree Bob
SYSTEM: Please welcome Sungold who just joined the chat.
Sungold: 18% is ridiculous. So many folks complain all the time.
Sungold: The most expensive part is the process which happens after the cameras have rolled
SYSTEM: Please welcome Dez who just joined the chat.
ProducerBadBob: hello Dez
SYSTEM: Please welcome Red who just joined the chat.
Red: someone needs to calculate the full expense of a 2.2% raise considering the growth of Pers exposure
Red: for every .5% Pers missed on projected interest the exposure to the municipality grew 4%
Red: they projected 7.5% and hit 2.25% you do the math on that
Red: next year they have to hit 18% to fund....yeah right
