Sungold:
Good Morning
Sungold:
I was mid level management, and until we were successful in getting representation, we were a little underpaid. After the union, we were able to get a better salary. Those mid-level supervisors are like the middle class......hard workers and creative
Jarhead:
but there should be a correlation to the economy of the community...from 2010 to 2013 the population and the median income both went down but city managers are getting raises every year
Jarhead:
every year the city employee share of the budget grows...the unions did a great job for their people...too good of a job...no sustainability
Jarhead:
be patient...they need a SOP first and let it be tested by other groups to find the flaws
Sungold:
Cameras, just one more thing the officers have to remember to do before entering a situation. I think they are a good idea but like Bob said, let's wait and see how they work out for other department. There is not really a great need to rush into the cameras
Jarhead:
we should have cameras on the city council...they are the municipal officials that have proved less than trustworthy
ProducerBadBob:
On the copcams there is the issue of storage and cataloging of GIGABYTES of raw data...then someone whose ONLY JOB will be to respond to the flood of FOIA requests, subopenas, Class Action Suits, Union Requests....etc etc. smart way to spend money?
ProducerBadBob:
Actually its more like hundreds of terabytes
ProducerBadBob:
HD video eats a lot of storage.
Jarhead:
Bob, nice selection....cafferty and the beaver brown band ! great movie also.... Eddie and the Cruisers
Sungold:
This means one new employee full time...but not right away
Sungold:
They could also find a retired professional with the necessary skills to take care of a good portion of the work.
Jarhead:
and big question....how long are they required to keep this info...one year ? multiple for internal investigations ? there is just no SOP yet so why rush it
Sungold:
RPD volunteers go through the exact same background check as paid staff
Sungold:
One year? I think that is an under estimation...considering how long it takes for court dates with some cases.
Jarhead:
26 nationally registered
Sungold:
The City Council does need to think things through...it is not wise to rush into cameras just because other communities are doing it. It is wiser to wait and see.
Sungold:
Time to get going.....have a good day all.
ProducerBadBob:
see you sunny
Jarhead:
Carl, ask Mac why they close the office for an hour and a half every day at lunch time so those of us that work can not go on our lunch hour but instead are required to miss work to come to the office
Jarhead:
can't they offset their lunch schedule to make the office available to working Vets
ProducerBadBob:
Jarhead we will take that up.
Jarhead:
Bob, great tunes
Jarhead:
just there yesterday to see DC
Dez:
"Don't cute the red wire! The place will explode!" Sounds like you have a need for the EOD over there!

ProducerBadBob:

Jarhead:

Red:
https://shastalantern.net/2015/09/san-bernardino-dumps-calpers-as-pension-death-spiral-looms/
Red:
gonna see a lot more of this
Red:
SB dumped their fire department and fire fighters to escape CalPers
Red:
gonna dump the fund altogether
Jarhead:
the ruling by the judge was a disgrace... refused to give calpers the same haircut everyone else was getting
Red:
my favorite quote from CalPers their was an "inappropriate assumption of solvency"
Jarhead:
nice to know they are dumping them... I agree Red....others will follow
Red:
CalPers is a dead man walking
ProducerBadBob:
So all those people who were assuming they had a retirement fund...don't?
Red:
that's right Bob, they had an "inappropriate assumption of solvency"
SYSTEM:

Jarhead:

Red:
There are somethings we have caught wind of going on with Vets Services going on in this County that are....shameful to say the least
Jarhead:
Carl, are we still hiring just VETS at the VSO ?
ProducerBadBob:

TexasJeff:
