Carl: Anyone having a p[roblem getting on this morning?

Craig: Minor correction to something Carl said about CCW training. By law, Sheriff Bosenko must provide his determinationg in writing before applicants are supposed to go to their CCW training.
ProducerBadBob: Interesting...since when, Craig. Brenda and I didn't have to.
ProducerBadBob: That a state thing?
Craig: It is state law.
ProducerBadBob: Happen to have the PC section? I'd like to look at that.
Craig: Im looking now,.. knew youd ask

Sungold: That ruling applies to new applicants, right?
Craig: Its not a ruling, but the law - it only refers generally to 'applicants', though it is presumed that renewals are already approved.
SYSTEM: Sungold just signed off.
Craig: These were a part of SB610 to prevent issuing agencies from accepting applications and fees and requiring training (which costs money) and then saying..."No, you arent approved... thanks for your time and money."
SYSTEM: Please welcome Syngold who just joined the chat.
Craig: The United States has had businessmen in the White House,.. putting the donald in there wont be any different than the rest of them - a constitutional adherent would be a game changer.
Jarhead: But the 'issuing agency' in this case the Sheriffs office does not do the training, so there is nothing in it that would be considered a conflict of interest
Craig: No, the S/O doesnt do training,.. but compelling people to get training if they arent going to be issued a license is pretty unfair, dont you think?
ProducerBadBob: And I know there are those who scream "Shall Issue" But honest...there are people out there who have no damn business carrying a gun. I'm not adverse to a little discretion, and I've seen no evidence of abuse of that authority from my point of view...Your Mileage May Vary.
Craig: Where in the constitution says that a government agent should apply their discretion on who should or shouldnt carry a gun in public?
ProducerBadBob: By absolute strict total unblinking intrepertation...none...but a blindly following something that can result in idiots wandering about with dangerous crap is just flat dumb.
Jarhead: and everytime that approve raises...the unfunded liabilities get larger...
ProducerBadBob: There is a balance in my view...so far so good...again...your view may be different.
SYSTEM: Guest just signed off.
Craig: Discretion whether an inch or a mile is an infringment - there is no justification for a government agent, absent adjudication, to deprive someone the right to bear arms.
ProducerBadBob: Well again, that assume that everyone is a reasonable person................
ProducerBadBob: The observed evidence says otherwise....
SYSTEM: Guest just signed off.
Craig: You mean innocent before being proven guilty...
Jarhead: Craig, like Carl and Ted, I do ccw courses for this county and the only thing I have seen applicants get rejected for is past records (felonys) which the applicant already knew existed..or in one case an active restraining order ...
Jarhead: we are lucky to have a system and a sheriff that is very much on the side of the gun owner
Craig: Hi Jarhead. I'm Craig. My application was denied by Sheriff Bosneko over a first amendment disagreement over the law. The Shasta County S/O stalled my application for 296 days and only issued my carry license after involving an attorney and threat of litigation.
ProducerBadBob: I try to employ a measure of Logical Empiricism. Examples of absolute unwillingness to let a pesky thing like Reality impinge on your viewpoint is not unlike ... oh...the Inquisition...or Sharia Law????
ProducerBadBob: A Personal Axe to grind then.
Craig: Bob - the Sheriff has a personal axe to grind. I followed the law.
Jarhead: Craig, you are the only one I have ever heard experience that....
ProducerBadBob: Again...Your MIleage May Vary. I've known Tom a good long time, and that does not jive with my experience...I could be wrong. But without personal firsthand evidence...hearsay.
Jarhead: Kaep..what a team player...don't stick around in case your team needs you...because you are not starting just take care of yourself
Jarhead: 16.7 million and he is out of that contract
Jarhead: because you can't keep the healthcare companies happy and have insurance for everyone... no matter how you do it..its going to cost these companies money...and while 'everything' is about the dollar...it never had a chance
Craig: Bob- then the Sheriff must have had some lapse in character that compelled him to violate the law and his oath of office. It isnt a matter of hearsay, as I am sure a PRA request could uncover the details, since CCW is a matter of public record.
Jarhead: better ? sweat stained..
Craig: Yuck.
Jarhead: I agree Craig
Craig: Guess it could be worse. Could have put the dress on Judy Garland's corpse and put it up for sale.
Jarhead: go with it...enjoy... gain pounds ..lose it later...everyone trying to take the peaks and valleys out of life...thats what makes life interesting..otherwise life has no challenges...have another piece of pie..
Craig: Well. Im out to make a living. Thanks for playing Bob, Jarhead, et al.
Jarhead: adios Craig

Carl:
Carl: I may make my first apple pie this week.
Carl: Its a long process but it looks great with a mixture of apples, apple jack and much more.
ljs: Well, if your efforts fail, you know where to go. They are either baked or frozen. Apple pie is available, and apple jack can be served on the side.
Carl: We'll try them this season.
