When you take out a dam, you build an estuary. That silt "belongs" in the river delta. Estuaries are the nurseries for forage fish (used to be called bait fish), which salmon feed on.

Dams have been removed in WA and OR and it had a strong positive effect on the fishery.

LaMalfa is just a continuation of Herger. Herger was on the ways and means committee, making him one of the most powerful people in congress. He failed to "bring home the bacon" for his district. LaMalfa is doing the same.

I agree, boggles my mind how some folks are simply willing to turn over big bucks to someone who promises a good return without even checking them out. My red lights always come on and I pay attention. They have never let me down.
