Sungold: Good Morning
Jarhead: not sure there has ever been an easier decision for any past presidents to choose a recipient... congrats Carl and Linda ! just wished I would have been able to give you my best...lol..but we got it done..
Jarhead: I would like to know if he was on any prescribed meds
Ted: I have already driven with UBER in Redding--really nice kid drove me. Also used them in Nashville.
Ted: Super easy-and great service
Ted: That guy could have worked for any company. He's provbably mad about the Panther's loss to Denver-
Ted: Yes, the estimate the fare on your app
Sungold: No money is exchanged between driver and passenger
Ted: I went from the Harley shop to Hilltop for $6.00
Sungold: Why did the media say 'Uber Driver"? Was that even necessary!
Jarhead: Russia (Putin) requests the permission to begin flyovers (the U.S.) to take digital pictures... just surprised it took them so long... we do it..not surprised Russia wants to do it...
SYSTEM: Please welcome Shastaminded who just joined the chat.
Shastaminded: The landowners get a charitable tax deduction for the conservation easement. It doesn't really affect how they use it except perhaps to limit subdivision development.
Ted: The Taxi Cab Driver's Association is bashing the UBER idea because it is a serious threat to them. I get it---their battle cry is that Uber doesn't screen like they do---and therefore these things will happen. UBER will put cab companys out of business-
Ted: Streamlined process and more efficient model
Shastaminded: My problem with it is that there is no creation of public use but it gives money to a private landowner for no real benefit like a park.

willie: Good point Shastaminded.
SYSTEM: Please welcome rallysally who just joined the chat.
Jarhead: thats a lot of votes once all these church goers get local addresses
rallysally: Plus, the property is forever in control of the conservancy-for time imemorial. Future generations will not be able to use it. It is basically owned by the government.
rallysally: Not only that but where do you suppose the Conservancy gets the money to "set aside" the land?
Carl: / ;p6 '
ProducerBadBob: Trivia Time. That location for Bethel was for many years the location of KVIP Then KSXO (my first radio station) and later KHTE on 600KHz, with a double tower directional signal.
ProducerBadBob: Correction....KVCV/KHSL FM was on that site.
rallysally: They take GRANT MONEY! Where do you think that comes from?
rallysally: The majority of the money is taxpayer funded.
Jarhead: the land trust...just puts the restriction of what can be done with your property later... like a zoning law...its still owned privately...you just agree to not develop it and your kids(if you leave it to them) your kids can not develop it either...
Ted: Ridiculous-
ProducerBadBob: Paging Doctor Evil...
Jarhead: if I had 10k acres and had grown up tending cattle on that property...I may want to know it would be preserved...even after I'm gone...but know my grandkids and great grand would get to see it as I did...
Jarhead: what happens when those involved in running the shasta land trust are no longer around and for some reason no one takes over for them...would another 'land' manager take it over for them ? like the Bureau of 'Land Management ?
ProducerBadBob: It's a private contract between SLT and the property owner...if SLT dissolves, so does the contract I'd think.

ProducerBadBob: WElcome to the chat room...
Jarhead: Bob, would be interesting to find out...just curious
willie: How does this lady from the trust get paid? HMMMMMM??
Carl: Probably like any other exec of a non profit.
SYSTEM: Please welcome drmaria who just joined the chat.
ProducerBadBob: Hey Doc
drmaria: good morning Bad Bob!!
SYSTEM: Please welcome Gref who just joined the chat.
willie: Why do landowners need protection?? Can you say government regulation.. This trust works hand in hand with the Gov. agencys as she said.....Wow..
drmaria: wait.....Bad Bad Bob!!! LOL
ProducerBadBob: Better to let a developer buy out the property, pave it over and put up tract homes or yet another strip mall I guess...it's the American Way after ll.
ProducerBadBob: all
ProducerBadBob: So...when the residents of say...Churn Creek Bottom petition the Government to prevent landowners from doing something with their property...how is that different?
Gref: Scvac dinner was amazing!! Great job Carl.
ProducerBadBob: Just working out the logic here
Jarhead: why is the cemetery the recipient ? they are funded thru state and national funds... and they won't allow vets to make adjustments or additions anymore...what does this money go to...there are many local Vet programs where this money could be used
Gref: Jarhead...agreed!
willie: Really???? If you owen 1000 Acres is not that your property? So if you do not want to develope your property you need the trust? Works both ways bob .The real question is why do we need this trust.
Gref: Vint did an amazing job..was amazing to see the whole place stand to support the VSO
drmaria: ^^That's cool Gref!
Gref: It was Doc. It was really cool. Vint is a great leader. But that's an NCO for you..always leading and making others look great
drmaria: ^^True That!
Gref: It's not a hornets nest Carl
Gref: There was only 2 boneheads that made the office look bad.
Gref: Thankfully you had a seasoned VSR who worked hard to keep it together
ProducerBadBob: Of course if someone could somehow abolish app property taxes, do away with the need for liability insurance, eliminate all fees for everything so that there was no chance of a property owner going bankrupt ever...yanno? Not seeing that happening in the Real World.
ProducerBadBob: app=all
Gref: Then you had a former vso to bring it up to speed
ProducerBadBob: Who knows...maybe all Land Trusts are tools of the Evil Empire...insufficent information.
Gref: The hornets nest were the self appointed leaders whom I have already addressed. If they didn't whine, there would never be an issue
Jarhead: Willie, all the trust does is lock the lands usage in so that when you(the owner) is gone...your land will continue as is...BUT will be owned by who you leave it to or sell it to...just a way to preserve it as you the owner wants...
drmaria: Way to keep it positive G! It will all work out amazingly in the end!!
Gref: Yes it will! I was disappointed though that the whiners wouldn't be men of honor and courage. It's sad they looked down upon a lady veteran.
ProducerBadBob: Given the choice...unbridled development and endless tract homes and strip malls...versus putting the land in a Trust...kind of a lesser of the evils thing.
willie: Your right Bob The Gov. should be in control. Your much to clever for me...I just can't keep up.
Gref: Tommy is hitting the ground running.
Jarhead: that VSO office is going to meet all expectations going forward...great people in place and leadership developing quickly to meet the needs for individual assessments and training... excited for them and our local veterans
Gref: It is exciting jar head , I hear since Dave came back and now Tommy being in charge the veteran numbers increased
Gref: the vso is getting busy again
Jarhead: applications are spiking...training's are increasing as fast as possible...very exciting ...great leadership from top and middle management...experienced and motivated.. even have our first VSR III...things have taken the turn and headed in the right direction
Gref: Is bob or Carl going to ask why they are giving to the cemetery and not to a local veteran non profit?
Jarhead: now its time for the Veteran community to support...and get on board...its all coming together
Gref: Hooaaa Jarhead! First female VSR3 in Shasta county history.
Jarhead: Carl, why is the cemetery the recipient and not local veteran organizations in general
Gref: I'm with you Jarhead
Gref: Bossetti...can you answer Jarhead? I think the shade is nice, but vets that are alive can benefit more then the former living
Carl: Not sure--Its becauswe SCVAC wants the money to go there.
Carl: May be not SCVAC--its the cemetary board that sells the tickets it appears.
Gref: Scvac supports many organizations they often give what they have to help
Gref: I'll volunteer to sell for scvac
Gref: Thank you for answering
