Joe: Mr. Weaver: The city has limited resources, the Police Department is documented to have the 7th highest pay rate in the state. Yet the RPD was just granted a pay raise instead of applying those funds to new officers. WHY?

Guest: not only is the police highly paid...especially for this area... but administration is as well... city employees...we have retired city employees bringing in 200,000 per year....from a Redding job...amazing

Guest: we are one of the poorest city's in the state.(for our size)..why do we have a pay level for our police that is above the norm

RTE: Things R bad and we have a rough road ahead. My only problem with what I hear from Weaver is that we are not pulling out of a recession. We are not attracting new revenue. I know that Brent is trying hard.

Guest: no money will come out of the general budget because of this money going in ? zero ?

RTE: I really get upset when I hear on the news these low unemployment figures and then you hear about our service men not being able to find a job and almost commiting suicide.

Guest: bad leadership.... just make overtime limited to a certain percentage

Guest: when you guys don't stay open about the unfunded pension...thats where the distrust comes from

RTE: These city employees should be negociating lower salaries to stay in their position. I'me sure there are qualified people out there that could adiquately replace them.

Guest: I want to TRUST that the individuals that worked for their pension will get it...

Joe: No, they get released within a few hours, which looks like a plan to get them more raises and more officers and more managers

Sungold: Question: Should the half cent sales tax pass, how will they go about choosing the person who is going to keep tract of how the money is spent?

Guest: you owe the city employees to manage their pension openly

Guest: great question SUN... it should be a citizens group not chosen by the council

Sungold: I just want to know how they will go about monitoring the money and who is going to do it. I want to know WHO is being held accountable for the expenditures?

Joe: I'd require the Congress and Senate to pass a balanced budget before they vote on any other measures each year.

RTE: I say we could solve a problem here in Redding by rounding up some of these guys with cardboard signs and send them south to work on the wall that Mexico is going to pay for.

SamR: Agreed. And quit supporting their drug habits by giving them money and social programs for every need they might have.

Joe: rephrase that: I'd require the house and senate to pass a balanced budget and get it signed into law each year before voting on any other measures.

SamR: Government was not designed originally to support all needs of the people. People need to take care of themselves and accept the choices they've made.

RTE: What really needs to be done is to get rid of the EPA and through out the environmental commies

Joe: RallySally: The city of redding has a spending problem, not an income problem. They need to fix their spending, they do not need more revenue. No new taxes

SamR: I agree with Joe. I do NOT support the tax increase. How about reigning in the exhorbitant salaries paid to City of Rdg staff.

SamR: Every time I drive by that huge city hall building it makes me throw up.

RTE: When it comes to taxes... you have to think.. give an inch and they will take a mile.. no, I don't like it. I say we need a big community watch program and careful organization through the Redding PD

SamR: Parks and Rec in Redding is out of control. Cut that department by 90%.

SamR: The upcoming Redding candidates will further the city down that lefty path. More spending.

Joe: Gut the planning department. Put an end to the annoying layout of barriers in parking lots.

RallySally: I agree-but the way they are talking, it seems like they think it is already a "done deal."

SamR: We must campaign against that sales tax increase.

Joe: there has been a scheme to make redding residents feel the pain of crime in our community, with the goal of passing this tax. I believe those persons who orchistrated this have committeed a crime.

SamR: If the Redding tea party ever had a mission to accomplish, the tax increase is a fantastic one to focus on.

Joe: 22 minutes to respond to an active shooting at an apartment complex by waterworks park? The RPD could get there faster on bicycles!

RallySally: Would you be willing to help?

SamR: Joe you are right! I've heard of Redding police insiders stating that what you just said is true.

SamR: You know the leaders are all going to jump on this sales tax increase because its money for everyone. The county will get a chunk of that increase. Floats all their boats.

RTE: What needs to be done in local, state and federal is to take down the business barriers... EPA, alll this UN crap has to be nulified. Loretta Lynch wants to fine the opposition.. so much for the 1st Amendment.

SamR: Exactly why Trump has taken this nation by storm, huge public rallies, people are desperate to save our nation.

Joe: and the PRD agreed to fund their own retirements because getting the 6% raise boosts the base of their pensions, which makes our unfunded liabilities worse yet

Guest: many efforts already moving forward to fight this tax... the RS poll asking about the tax is losing by 20%

SamR: Good. More money will NOT fix redding's problems.

Guest: and the unfunded pensions will just continue to grow,... the third largest pension plan in the nation just asked the Treasury dept for permission to cut current employees plans and CURRENT retirees...if this is allowed it will send a strong message

SamR: McConnell has taken over the governance of Redding. Let McConnell pay for the homeless and crime problems.

SamR: I have some construction background, would be willing to turn Stillwater into a jail. Sure.

Guest: and they had an opportunity to have more beds but decided on the lower number with Moty not acctering any other solutions...why would he if the tax increase and free money from the city was possible
