Good Morning
Sungold:
Did I hear correctly that Anselmos sold again and they brought in a chef from NY?
SYSTEM:
Please welcome Joe who just joined the chat.
Guest:
but now there is a risk to allowing yourself to be diagnosed
Guest:
Sun...yep... still having issues with the county...but I did hear the NY Chef was in place
Sungold:
I can't seem to find out anything on the NET. I went to the Shingletown newspaper and you have to subscribe to even read any articles. Crazy for that small community paper
Joe:
Mr. Weaver: The city has limited resources, the Police Department is documented to have the 7th highest pay rate in the state. Yet the RPD was just granted a pay raise instead of applying those funds to new officers. WHY?
SYSTEM:
Please welcome drmaria who just joined the chat.
Guest:
not only is the police highly paid...especially for this area... but administration is as well... city employees...we have retired city employees bringing in 200,000 per year....from a Redding job...amazing
Guest:
why are there any raises while we are broke and economy is still having issues
Guest:
accountability starts at the top....the council and our budget is the top
Guest:
we are one of the poorest city's in the state.(for our size)..why do we have a pay level for our police that is above the norm
Guest:
Pars ?
Guest:
what are city employees paying...I know they don't pay ALL of it...how much does the tax payer pay...percentage
Guest:
we have some serious 'unfunded pensions' that need our attention...is there anyway that we can use some of that money to be spent there
Guest:
like the lotto
Guest:
adding to it is not going to help
Guest:
7.5% risk free....which doesn't exist
SYSTEM:
Please welcome RTE who just joined the chat.
Guest:
if you have no plan for the unfunded pension...how could you possibly be able to derive a plan for anything else ? if we are going bankrupt as a city any of these will add to it
Guest:
who is the twit
RTE:
Things R bad and we have a rough road ahead. My only problem with what I hear from Weaver is that we are not pulling out of a recession. We are not attracting new revenue. I know that Brent is trying hard.
Guest:
agree RTE
Guest:
no money will come out of the general budget because of this money going in ? zero ?
RTE:
I really get upset when I hear on the news these low unemployment figures and then you hear about our service men not being able to find a job and almost commiting suicide.
Guest:
bad leadership.... just make overtime limited to a certain percentage
Guest:
when you guys don't stay open about the unfunded pension...thats where the distrust comes from
RTE:
These city employees should be negociating lower salaries to stay in their position. I'me sure there are qualified people out there that could adiquately replace them.
Guest:
I want to TRUST that the individuals that worked for their pension will get it...
Joe:
No, they get released within a few hours, which looks like a plan to get them more raises and more officers and more managers
Sungold:
Question: Should the half cent sales tax pass, how will they go about choosing the person who is going to keep tract of how the money is spent?
Guest:
you owe the city employees to manage their pension openly
Guest:
great question SUN... it should be a citizens group not chosen by the council
Sungold:
I just want to know how they will go about monitoring the money and who is going to do it. I want to know WHO is being held accountable for the expenditures?
Guest:
audits
RTE:
Like Terry said: Things are going to get worse in a couple months.
Guest:
the spending and the audit group should be different groups
Sungold:
I don't know if Peggy Linville is still around but she *former City Treasurer: would be great for that position
Joe:
don't need a treasurer, need an auditor
Sungold:
She can do that!
Guest:
nd no one at has been connected to the city
RTE:
What we should do about the homeless... maybe speak softly and carry a bib baseball bat? I think we need more citizen involvement. We should have more trust from out police so we can learn better to work with them.
RTE:
a big baseball bat
Sungold:
Hummm...not sure about that. Maybe someone who knows how the City does underhanded things and WHO is WHO might just be the one. My gut tells me someone who has been retired for a time and has been keeping a close eye on the shenanigans
Joe:
perhaps we need to start washing down the homeless encampments with https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&sqi=2&ved=0ahUKEwigjuSb3MXMAhVGeCYKHc9RCYYQFggcMAA&url=https%3A%2F%2Fen.wikipedia.org%2Fwiki%2FSkunk_(weapon)&usg=AFQjCNHZvihfFg5PDgTjKUuKxH5UcbY0tQ&bvm=

True:
The only difference Mr. Weaver is that when you sit an make a budget with your spouse, that's your money. It's real easy to budget when you're spending other people's money.
RTE:
I thought Anselmo moved back east?
Joe:
RTE: He did, but the place he built kept the name
Sungold:
Yes he did, then he sold the property in the Inwood Valley
RTE:
So there is still a business out there?
Joe:
yes and that business is still fighting with the county (or the other way around)
Sungold:
It was auctioned off and I understand an Asian women got it. She was not successful and the place went downhill. I hear they are open again, have a new chef from NY, but what I cannot find out is if there is a new owner
RTE:
Still permit problems?
Sungold:
Yes they are having problems, not sure the issues

WE won't hear much from the rediculous flashlight.
Joe:
focus Carl, focus.

RTE:
Ask Doug if he's going to get behind Trump?
Carl:
New owner new chef.
Carl:
Food is good
Joe:
He's going to get behind whatever the party managers tell him to get behind
Joe:
The 3 houses of our Govenment are not the President, House and Senate. Doug you know better than that
RTE:
Ryan doesn't sound too happy.
RTE:
All I have to say is we need someone tough to deal with the Tzars that have these islamic names and all the corruption that has to be cleaned out of the once White House. Trump is tough and we need to get hard core.
SYSTEM:
Please welcome SamR who just joined the chat.
SamR:
I've been behind Trump since day one. No he's not perfect, but he's our best chance to save our nation.
RallySally:
I think Ryan is looking to get some promises from Trump.
RTE:
I hope Doug knows that there are people in the Republican leadership that are comfortable with the liberal leadership and what they are doing to our economy.
RTE:
The Bush family isn't so American so it seems
SamR:
Trump has shaken up the established Republicans, something that no one else has been able to do. The Dems the last year have only stuffed the Republicans tighter into their corner. Time for them to come out and do what's right for our country. Trump can make that happen now.
SamR:
the last 8 years I meant to say.
SamR:
I'm a strong Republican, but SO HAPPY to see the Bushes gone.
RTE:
When I see Ryan on the tube, I think I can actually see the strings attached to his arns on my 4 K HD set
Joe:
I was hoping to have the opportunity to vote for an actual conservative
SamR:
Joe - are you actually saying LaMalfa isn't conservative?? You must not know him very well or watch his votes.
Joe:
SamR: I specifically refer to the Presidential campagin
SamR:
Or are you meaning Trump? If so, your choice is Trump or Hillary.
RTE:
I hope the public knows we have to still et out to the polls and vote in June
Joe:
Trump is not my man, but I am voting against the HildaBeast
SamR:
Yes, me too.
RallySally:
SamR-do you really think Doug is a conservative?
Joe:
we already tried electing a narcissist, not sure electing another one will help us
RTE:
I think Trump will be a pleasant surprize.... the man doesn't drink and he runs a tight ship. The trouble is he likes to say things without thinking too far ahead. Like one of us. Then he will change if it is what needs to be done. Fact is, if you don't vote, that is a proxy vote for socialism
SamR:
Yes, I truly believe LaMalfa is conservative. There is NO question, my gosh.
RallySally:
Really? Have you paid any attention to how he votes?
SamR:
Yes. And so does the National Rifle Assoc, CA Farm Bureau and Howard Jarvis Taxpayers.
RTE:
Doug voted for the trade bill that Obama wanted... that hurts
Joe:
SamR: The NRA does not measure conservatisim nor R vs D, they measure votes and positions on the Second Amendment. Big difference there
RallySally:
He also voted FOR Boehner.
RTE:
Good point Doug.. Don't let those idiots in the Republican leadership put us into a bad situation in the Supreme Court
SamR:
That Boehner issue is so dead.
Joe:
The lesser of two evils is still evil
RTE:
Paul Ryan is a mirror of Bpehner
RallySally:
Doug has a 63% rating with Conservative Review-Mark Levins website.
SamR:
And look how Paul Ryan is acting right now....almost like a spoiled brat.
RTE:
bad aim on those keys
SamR:
Our system will continue in gridlock when lefties stay 100% left and righties stay 100% right. You want more gridlock?
RTE:
All I can say there's something really rotten in the Republican leadership
SamR:
Yes, that's why Trump is a breath of fresh air. I'm so excited about his success.
Joe:
SamR: Yes please. A gridlocked Government does no further evil, does not increase taxes, does not further impair the Citizens
SamR:
But, Joe - gridlock keeps us on a budgetary downhill slide until we crash.
Joe:
Gridlock stops them from hitting the accelerator as we drive towards that crash
SamR:
We must have leadership in Washington DC where common sense wins.
SamR:
That's where Republicans have been putting on the brakes. Yes, I agree.
Joe:
I'd require the Congress and Senate to pass a balanced budget before they vote on any other measures each year.
RTE:
I say we could solve a problem here in Redding by rounding up some of these guys with cardboard signs and send them south to work on the wall that Mexico is going to pay for.
SamR:
Agreed. And quit supporting their drug habits by giving them money and social programs for every need they might have.
Joe:
rephrase that: I'd require the house and senate to pass a balanced budget and get it signed into law each year before voting on any other measures.
RTE:
Aman
SamR:
Government was not designed originally to support all needs of the people. People need to take care of themselves and accept the choices they've made.
Joe:
I cannot afford the government I have, but I can afford the government that only does what is it's proper role
Joe:
its*
SamR:
People screw up and then expect the government to fix it - - - over and over and over. Cradle to grave. I'm sick of paying for that.
RallySally:
Who here supports the half cent sales tax?
RTE:
What really needs to be done is to get rid of the EPA and through out the environmental commies
Joe:
RallySally: The city of redding has a spending problem, not an income problem. They need to fix their spending, they do not need more revenue. No new taxes
SamR:
Yes, RTE. Trump might do that, throw out every agency head and start over.
SamR:
I agree with Joe. I do NOT support the tax increase. How about reigning in the exhorbitant salaries paid to City of Rdg staff.
SamR:
Every time I drive by that huge city hall building it makes me throw up.
RTE:
When it comes to taxes... you have to think.. give an inch and they will take a mile.. no, I don't like it. I say we need a big community watch program and careful organization through the Redding PD
SamR:
Parks and Rec in Redding is out of control. Cut that department by 90%.
SamR:
The upcoming Redding candidates will further the city down that lefty path. More spending.
Joe:
Gut the planning department. Put an end to the annoying layout of barriers in parking lots.
RallySally:
I agree-but the way they are talking, it seems like they think it is already a "done deal."
SamR:
I HATE those damn parking lot islands.
SamR:
We must campaign against that sales tax increase.
RallySally:
Sam-I'm open for suggestions on how to do that!
Joe:
there has been a scheme to make redding residents feel the pain of crime in our community, with the goal of passing this tax. I believe those persons who orchistrated this have committeed a crime.
SamR:
If the Redding tea party ever had a mission to accomplish, the tax increase is a fantastic one to focus on.
Joe:
22 minutes to respond to an active shooting at an apartment complex by waterworks park? The RPD could get there faster on bicycles!
RallySally:
Would you be willing to help?
SamR:
Joe you are right! I've heard of Redding police insiders stating that what you just said is true.
SamR:
You know the leaders are all going to jump on this sales tax increase because its money for everyone. The county will get a chunk of that increase. Floats all their boats.
RTE:
What needs to be done in local, state and federal is to take down the business barriers... EPA, alll this UN crap has to be nulified. Loretta Lynch wants to fine the opposition.. so much for the 1st Amendment.
SamR:
Exactly why Trump has taken this nation by storm, huge public rallies, people are desperate to save our nation.
Joe:
and the PRD agreed to fund their own retirements because getting the 6% raise boosts the base of their pensions, which makes our unfunded liabilities worse yet
Guest:
many efforts already moving forward to fight this tax... the RS poll asking about the tax is losing by 20%
Guest:
absolutely JOE
RallySally:
Where is this poll?
SamR:
Good. More money will NOT fix redding's problems.
SamR:
Maybe a billboard stating, "More taxes will NOT fix Redding"
RallySally:
A billboard costs $1,500 a month!
Guest:
and the unfunded pensions will just continue to grow,... the third largest pension plan in the nation just asked the Treasury dept for permission to cut current employees plans and CURRENT retirees...if this is allowed it will send a strong message
Guest:
Sally...go to record searchlight site...then search 'poll' it will be the top choice
RallySally:
Thank you guest-I'll do it!
RTE:
Why does Chuck and Harry have so much power in the minority?
Guest:
Sally, this is Vint...if you want to know some of the efforts being made give me a call
SamR:
How about groups like "Veterans against tax increases" and "Farmers against tax increases" or "Business against tax increases"?
Guest:
451 votes...tax loses by 20%
Guest:
Sam...it is going to take them all
RallySally:
The tax will only be charged within the city limits, but the county will "share" in the revenue.
Guest:
which is an issue all by itself
SamR:
I bet the tax increase was designed to "share" with the county in order to get their buy in.
RallySally:
Yep.
RallySally:
The county runs the jail, and they need more beds in the jail.
SamR:
McConnell has taken over the governance of Redding. Let McConnell pay for the homeless and crime problems.
Joe:
Take the Stillwater Industrial Park and build the entire thing in to a jail.
RTE:
Agreed Joe
SamR:
I have some construction background, would be willing to turn Stillwater into a jail. Sure.
Guest:
and they had an opportunity to have more beds but decided on the lower number with Moty not acctering any other solutions...why would he if the tax increase and free money from the city was possible
RTE:
All we need is chain link and razor wire
Joe:
triple fence it, put up guard towers, and fill it with cots
Guest:
thats the problem Doug...you just said it..."i'm not trying to bring your info and opinions back to washington" "i'm trying to bring you what is happening in Washington" you quit listening a while ago
SamR:
Moty always wants other people to pay for his needs, thus he's a double dipper if not a triple dipper. Look who pays all his numerous paychecks.
RTE:
We need to make it un attractive to be homeless in Redding.
Joe:
or contract with Sheriff Arpio to house our convicted prisoners, leaving our jail to deal with those pending sentences
SamR:
Did any of you watch Moty on his cell phone while sitting up in front during the candidate forum?
drmaria:
Well SamR - someone needs to be encouraged to run against Moty
Guest:
venus...lol
RallySally:
Yes. The height of arrogance!
drmaria:
SamR - his comp is Jerome Venus....OY
RallySally:
OY is right!!
SamR:
Moty's only challenger is Venus (from Mars). Moty shows his arrogance by sitting up in front of everyone chatting on his cell phone - really??
Guest:
but he needs a job Maria
Guest:
he has back taxes to pay
drmaria:
Guest...LOL yes because of his back taxes...Oy
RTE:
Things are better with the government shut down... Teh Republicans won big the next election
Joe:
what ever happened to that strange guy that used to run for almost every office?
RallySally:
He went and spent some time in jail for stalking.
SamR:
Moty is getting enough public money in his unearned pension. But now we'll pay him an additional $65,000 (or close) in supervisor salary plus heath care for him and his wife FOREVER.
RallySally:
Yep.
SamR:
People are actually afraid to go up against him because he plays dirty.
Joe:
health ins for supervisors should be during service only. and NO RETIREMENT
RTE:
Bankrupcy might be a good thing
RallySally:
Bankrupcy might be the only thing left.
drmaria:
SamR - yes that is what I here....there is fear to run against him...Not Venus though - he don't give a crap!! LOL
Joe:
Moty is an example of why I think Jefferson would crash and burn. He and people like him will seek and acquire high office in Jefferson
SamR:
Too late, Joe. Its been that way for years, once they serve just a day into either their second term they get health care for the rest of their lives. (It might be 3rd term, but I'm htinking its 2nd)
Guest:
but he doesn't want to take our message back to washington...he just wants to tell us what he is doing...
RallySally:
Really Joe? You don't know the people who wants Jefferson then.
Joe:
Sally, I know politicians. They seek to enhance their own power. No matter what.
