Dave: My vote by mail ballot came yesterday. I am voting for Shappell. The R-S endorsed someone else. Shanna Cannon was quoted saying the paper got $100,000 from dispensary ads. I oppose Shasta County's $100 million commercial marijuana industry and so does Shappell

Dave: Whenever I can, I vote the opposite of the R-S endorsements. Not that they matter much, since subscribers are pretty much democrats, government employees and government retirees.

Sungold: My observation with Weaver has been that every-time he opens his mouth, he reminds us first about his business

Sungold: There is not reason for the homeless to use the front of businesses for their bathroom needs. It is simply a statement they are making. The city has a loitering ordinance and they should enforce it. I am so sick of hearing about this.

Sungold: Everyone has rights, but there is a time and place for all actions, and taking a bath at the library is not right. Put a stop to it, plain and simple. Run them away from loitering and scaring the rest of us as we approach the library with our grandchildren and children
