There is no reason Redding is in the power production business, any more than guitar manufacturing. The natural gas employees would still live in Palo Cedro or some of the good neighborhoods in Redding. The futures traders would have to find other work. The unfunded pensions from the power produc

we used to have flat track bikes and mud when it rained for the cars and old trucks..
onion_grower:
The unfunded pen;sions from the REU power production business are a big negative for investing in Redding.
onion_grower:
The only reason we have the power production part of REU is it used to have low cost power from Shasta Dam. That no longer applies. Redding can keep the power distibution and sales business without the losses in the power production business.

this group wrote 10 checks per year....and all contributions came from the city and paid out in checks...it takes most of us less than an hour to balance our checkbooks each month after bills etc... but these idiots, armed with a financial division already on staff and payroll... did they use them ?

NO... they hired one of their friends and agreed to pay them thousands to attempt to find something that didn't exist....they should have to come out of their personal pockets for this expense
