onion_grower: Instead of Redding's measure D, there should have been a Shasta county referendum for the jail expansion, with the tax lasting 5 years.

onion_grower: Shasta county has gotten rid of three nasty pot growers in my neighborhood.

onion_grower: Those nasty pot growers had a five minute exchange of semi-automatic gunfire at 10PM at harvest time. It was a few years ago. It cost the county a helicopter and about six units response. The pot growers said they were hunting mountain lions at 10PM after dark.

onion_grower: Lot of domestic violence and child abuse in the pot growers. It's the meth which often goes along with commercial pot growing.

onion_grower: I gave a woman a ride into town after she got a black eye from her pot grower boyfriend.

onion_grower: Thanks to the Sheriff and Resource Management for getting those pot growers to leave. Good to see the county collected property transfer tax when those parcels sold.

onion_grower: Nasty pot growers send their kids to school with no coat, wearing just a tee shirt on frosty mornings in December. I met a teacher who lost count of how many coats he provided kids. Coming to school reeking of pot from a house with meth using parents is not good.

onion_grower: Pot growers cost the county a lot in child welfare, parole enforcement, welfare, food stamps. Somehow $100,000 in pot profits turns into meth.

onion_grower: The county has a tough, tough job and I am grateful.

onion_grower: There is one reasonable response to the CA unfunded pension liability. Sell your place and move to Reno. Better to be making money in Nevada than losing money in California.

onion_grower: California appeared to have unlimited wealth from capitalism investment in the tech industry. With the tech industry leaving the state, CA is sunk.

45days: we shouldn't have been competing with these other municipals anyway...the only people that ever pushed that argument were unions and the employees that knew what people in other city govt were getting paid...they should have moved

Rocky: I like our law enforcement officers but when you have the government jobs out weighing the tax payers like here in Redding, I think we should decrease salaries.

45days: keeping up with the JOnes just doesn't work....live within your budget...even cities

Rocky: We just don't have the doe

45days: we need to take the pain....we need to have our own retirement program...other communities are already doing it

45days: it will be hard for a while,...but eventually we will be back on top of our budget...there is no future in doing what we are currently doing...

onion_grower: There are at least 50 auto injectors for meds. Used since WW2. Carl probably carried three different ones for use depending on which chemical warfare agent.
