Shastaminded: PERS was doing just fine until the housing bubble that crashed real estate stocks and the subsequent great recession. We really should be more outraged at mismanagement by PERS than denying benefits to employees.

Sungold: Shasta, I cannot believe PERS fell for that hosing market bubble. We knew it was just a matter of time before a great collapse. I don't know who makes up their investment board, but they should be fired.
