I was a poll worker for four elections. There is an election in odd numbered years most of the time, but not always. It seems crazy when only 25 people show up to vote. We could have an election for a county wide tax like measure D next November.

If there is just one ballot for everyone in the county, the election costs less than the bond measure and school board races where the county has dozens of different types of ballots.

KRCRTV7 reports record voter registration statewide and in Shasta. Shasta now has over 100,000. Trump has motivated democrats to go to the polls to vote for HRC. LaMalfa could well be defeated, after he won about 60% of the vote in the last two elections and appeared to have a safe seat.

When LaMalfa was on KCNR he showed why he should be defeated. He has no ideas about economic development. All he does is complain about the democrats and the VA.

LaMalfa is no improvement on Herger. Herger was on the Ways and Means committee, making him one of the most powerful people in Congress. He did nothing for economic development in his district.

64 is so far ahead in the polls, it is sure to pass statewide. In Shasta county, the issue is commercial pot growing. If we vote against 64, that is a message to the BOS to continue to ban outdoor grows.

Commercial pot growers bring poly-drug abusers to the county. The diseases from meth, heroin, cocaine, crack, etc are very expensive. It contributes to the physician shortage.

I talked to a physician recruiter from one of the hospitals. Physicians don't want to come to redding to take care of non-compliant medicaid patients reeking of pot.
