Kim Neimer is setting herself up for a good retirement...not that far off, I suspect
DeplorableBadBob:
Got it, Sunny and Vint
Sungold:
1000.00 a month raise is deplorable
Sungold:
She does a good job but that position is not worth that much money
Sungold:
You can call all you want - they will not care. Calls will be filtered anyway
Sungold:
Kim Neimer must have been at the top of her pay scale, did they give her a promotion? that is usually how one gets a raise after they are at the top of the scale.

City claimed they needed the sale tax increase so they could hire CSO's...where are they getting the money for this massive pay raise?
Mike0676:
Lack of accountibility We need "change" @ the top, I'm not talking about the council...
Sungold:
They need to have daytime classes for the CCW....last time I renewed there were none.
Sungold:
I would go nuts in one of those tiny houses within a week!
Sungold:
Even in a big RV, I only lasted 2 1/2 weeks and that was pushing my tolerance.
DeplorableBadBob:
It just takes a little getting used to. Brenda and I will be spending weeks at a time on a boat and we used to live in a Park Model. 499 Square Feet not counting the loft

We had two RV's - one we traveled with three kids and a big dog. That was not so bad. Then we got a bigger RV and it was just the two of us with a small dog. It seemed that every direction I went I ran into my hubby. Loved our trips but not the confinement...I was a lot older by this time too!

Thanks Carl for the excellent blog in the paper about election results. Just the numbers, no spin!
Jarhead:
Congrats Adam...nice to have a Veteran on the council
Jarhead:
how does Adam feel about the raises being discussed
Jarhead:
even do 30 minutes in the front and and overflow at the end
onion_grower:
The best way to reach city council and Kurt Starman is to s;end a snail mail letter. It has to be read and go in the files. Phone calls and emails are easy to ignore.
Jarhead:
wait wait wait....air force basic training.. dont they watch movies and order out for pizza...thats not boot camp

The fine print of prop 64 says a city has to allow dispensaries to get a share of marijuana tax receipts. The newspaper will be pushing to allow dispensaries to collect ads. Shanna Cannon said somewhere that the R*S made $100,000/yr on dispensary ads when they were legal.
Jarhead:
Tonights discussion will make a lot of decisions on whether a RECALL becomes reality...
onion_grower:
City staff will be pushing for dispensaries because of property transfer taxes. When properties are sold, they are reassessed, so the city will make more property taxes. Those are in addition to the marijuana taxes.
Mike0676:
We need 3 "conservative" votes on the council to make REAL change. It's time for Starman to go.
onion_grower:
Shasta county voted against 64 by a good margin. Citizens are aware of the costs of pot.

Did you notice th R.S. didn't publish their "wage / benefit" survey this year.
Jarhead:
enough of keeping up with the Jones's...our budget dictates what we can pay... someone will fill the position and it may not be what some think is the 'best' candidate...but budget must dictate
Jarhead:
Mike..I agree...Starman must go...

Glad Cadd is gone! So tired of the negative rhetoric instead of working together to solve the problems
Russell:
Ask Adam about the City buying Allen's Golf Course. Where will the millions come from ?
Mike0676:
Not only Starman, but Lees @ the county. The only way things will change, is to change the local leadership.
Dan:
Funny, this area is not known for wanting change
Dan:
Billy should run for counsel
onion_grower:
How will Adam vote when allowing dispensaries comes up?
Mike0676:
Allens golf course is off Sacramento Dr.
Russell:
Yes. Allen's as a park will require access off Bonneyview.
onion_grower:
The county should respect the will of the voters in Shasta county who voted against 64 and continue the ban on outdoor grows.
onion_grower:
Commercial marijuana attract crime, homeless, trimmers, etc. It costs fire, like the Freddie Smoke fire which killed one person.
onion_grower:
Commercial marijuana also costs child protective services, parole enforcement, welfare, welfare fraud, etc
Russell:
Watch out for the Cultural District. There will be a tax attached to it at some point.
onion_grower:
There have already been robberies of a marijuana hydroponic store. Dispensaries will cost LE.

please ask Mr. Mcelvain about the ballot system for changing the utility rates. I believe this gimmick is unfair. REU knows full well most folks won't read the notice or follow the news. So a weak return equals a raise in rates. This must be changed. What can be done to change this? Thank you.

absolutely April

"Rigged system". Count only the ballots that are returned.
DeplorableBadBob:
I think the CalExit movement is somewhat amusing....these are the yahoos who mocked SoJ, what they are doing instead is adding to the interest and viability. =D
