DeplorableBadBob: The complete arrogance of the sitting triad is astonishing.

Mike0676: Weaver voted no because it was safe to do so. You only needed three votes to approve. The outcome was known before the meeting.
SYSTEM: Please welcome Jarhead who just joined the chat.
Joe: wish I could get the redding city council to set my rate of pay....
Jarhead: Mike....and he personally depicted a time that he did that very thing...warning me there was no reason for him to be on the wrong side of something so he would vote the other way just for appearances told me later that I made it sound bad depicting what he had done
Mike0676: Weaver isn't stupid, he knows how to play the game. Just look at who his "backers" are.
Jarhead: who are his backers ?
Jarhead: it just isn't in the budget...
Mike0676: The local "Ruling Class".
SYSTEM: Please welcome onion_grower who just joined the chat.
onion_grower: The elections department still has not counted close to 20,000 ballots. As of today, they report 74,000. The turnout was about 90,000.
Jarhead: Recall

Jarhead: Recall
Jarhead: and the REU oversight
onion_grower: oops, wrong link
Joe: OG: Link to the uncounted ballot info please?
onion_grower: http://results.enr.clarityelections.com/CA/Shasta/64166/183451/Web01/en/summary.html
Mike0676: Neimer doing her job? Really
onion_grower: Most of the uncounted ballot are vote by mail. They compare the signature on the envelope with the signature on the voter registration card before they open the envelope and put the ballot in the counting machine.
SYSTEM: Please welcome Sungold who just joined the chat.
Joe: OG: I'm not finding info on uncounted ballots at your link
Sungold: Happy Wednesday
Sungold: Mike, you think Neimer not doing her job? How so?
onion_grower: Most people in Shasta county vote by mail. Many deliver their ballot to a polling place. You get the I voted sticker plus have the experience of voting at a precinct without standing in line.
onion_grower: You can deliver your ballot to any polling place, several drops places like the one in front of Redding city hall or to the elections office.
Joe: SOURCE? onion_grower: The elections department still has not counted close to 20,000 ballots. As of today, they report 74,000. The turnout was about 90,000.
onion_grower: Joe, Shasta county has over 100,000 registered voters. Turnout was about 90%. The elections department reported the 74,000 number I gave you. They don't report the number of uncounted ballots.
Mike0676: Sun: Too many examples to list here.
onion_grower: The canvassing board are the people who compare the signatures. It takes time. When signatures don't match, they contact the voter to verify.
Joe: I want to share this info with a friend who is prone to analyzing facts. I dont find any data to support 20K uncounted ballots as of today in Shasta county. What would you tell him?
Sungold: Well, if that is true, how did she get the raise? City employees have a pay scale and my guess is that given her years there she was at the top of it, which means she must have gotten a promotion. All my time working with the City I never saw 1000,000 a month pay raises. I have nothing against he
Sungold: against her but the pay raise is deplorable
Jarhead: Carl, were you just being politically correct ? really ? come on Buttercup...relax...she was just kidding...
Jarhead: I'll take the cute nurse...not afraid to say it...lol
Carl: How'd you do at the Spartan?
onion_grower: http://www.latimes.com/politics/essential/la-pol-ca-essential-politics-updates-elections-officials-across-california-1479258970-htmlstory.html
onion_grower: Statewide, 4 million ballots uncounted as of today.
Mike0676: Sun: If you are a city employee or retired, then you should know the truth.
onion_grower: There are still many undecided close races.
Joe: thank you OG. that will help
onion_grower: I was a poll worker in four elections, so the nuts and bolts interest me. Vote by mail tend to vote more conservative. Older, more experienced voters tend to vote by mail. First timers tend to go to a polling place. Hillary's lead in the popular vote could shrink a lot.
Sungold: Mike, I am not sure what truth you speak of?
Carl: OG--I'm not sure that will hold up with younger voters who prefer to tech it vice dealing with people.
Sungold: Frankly, i did my job well, was familiar with pay raises and promotions and I got them myself. I did see a lot of lazy department heads, but most of those were cleaned out when Mike Warren came on board. He consolidated a lot of departments and a few people were demoted
SYSTEM: Please welcome RTE who just joined the chat.
DeplorableBadBob: It's terribly easy to snipe from the shadows "Everyone knows that *blahblah*" But that's so oversimplified. All politicians are not corrupt. All civic workers are not just suckling at the breast of the taxpayer. They are just people. Some good some not so much. Be careful with the broad brush.
Sungold: Does the ballot count for the presidential election stop once the needed amount of delegates is reached?
RTE: I sure had a rough 8 years...I need a 15 thousand dollar raise.. Because I did my job right.
DeplorableBadBob: Amazing that when you tell a Millennial we are a REPUBLIC and not a DEMOCRACY, they go all deer in headlghts on you.
DeplorableBadBob: That all said, I think this raise was badly timed and not reflective of reality.
Sungold: You are right BB....most of the civic workers I worked with were hard working and very dedicated people. Many worked longer hours and often volunteered their time for many projects. Most of the fluff was at the top.
RTE: I could care less about all those fixed income people paying the taxes that make my job possible
onion_grower: They keep counting ballots until a deadline date. I don't know the date this year, but you could find it online.
RTE: And how about those soldiers over seas... the ones that don't get their deaths reported during a Democrat presidents term. They should be OK with no raise..
DeplorableBadBob: Yes now everytime someone in the Middle East gets a hangnail it will be trumpeted (pun intended) loudly in the Mess Media.
RTE: 130 thousaned a year just isn't enough to make ends meet... got to tax those social security people more
RTE: Remmeber during the Bush years, the media reported military deaths constantly
Sungold: Time to get productive.....have a good day all.
Mike0676: Sun: Yes Warren clean house somewhat. But replace with "his" followers. Neimer has one of his favorites. How else do you explain the demo of the "old" plunge without council permission and not only kept her job, but recieved promotion. I have nothing personally against her. In fact , I have worked w
Mike0676: I have worked with her on several projects.
RTE: Personally, I think city employees should all take a pay decrease so this city doesn't go belly up
RTE: It's tough times and we just don't have the money
Joe: is Sheriff Tom on today?
DeplorableBadBob: he is indeed
Sungold: I never worked with her but did know her. My work was focused with the Redding Police Department for the first few years until my job went City wide. Then I was more exposed to City Hall which was a different atmosphere from law enforcement, and a shock!
RTE: As for our law enforcement, maybe raise the Deputies pay and lower the police
onion_grower: I strongly support the S
Sungold: I still gave most of my time to RPD and the rest to City Hall side, so I learned a lot and saw a lot. I had a great time during my years there and still miss the law enforcement connection. I worked with the very best... the Blankenship team
Sungold: Time to go....
Mike0676: Sun: The things that happen on the second and third floors would shock and suprised most taxpayers.
onion_grower: I strongly support the Shasta county board of supervisors calling a referendum in 2017 for a county wide tax like measure D and E.
DeplorableBadBob: Bob Blankenship was a cop's cop
RTE: have a nice day sungold
Mike0676: Chief Blankenship was(is) a great leader.
onion_grower: Shasta county has fewer ways to divert funds from a jail expansion. As I said to Cadd on this show, Walt McNeil could sue to block transfer of funds from city to county.
RTE: This missing person case is a real mystery
onion_grower: A county tax for a county jail expansion means less risk that funds would be diverted or delayed by litigation.
RTE: We never found the lady jogger that disappeared years ago.. fogot her name/
RTE: forgot
RTE: same area
onion_grower: I've ridden that street on my way to the top of wintu way. Moving fast on a mountain bike is probably safer than running. If a bad guy pulls a knife or gun, he would take some time to set up. Going three times faster on a bike would make it harder for the abductor.
RTE: Joggers should take a phone with GPS
onion_grower: People don't stop you and ask for directions or something when you are on a bike. A bad guy would probably approach the runner and pretend to ask for directions.
DeplorableBadBob: Tara Smith, echoing.
RTE: right
RTE: Who was the guy that was being investigated for that?
onion_grower: You are not absolutely safe on a bike. A lady friend was shot in her rather large butt by a pellet gun. Punks drove past her, did a U turn, did another U turn and made a second pass when they shot her. I got my butt slapped on Alturas by punks who did the two u turn maneuver.
RTE: Even if he moved, they should find him and ask some questions
DeplorableBadBob: Just my incorrect viewpoint that that's sure grounds for Axe-Handle-Justice.
onion_grower: It is a good fitness ride from Sunrise to the top of Wintu Way. Hardly any traffic. No pitt bulls to chase you, although there are quite a few dogs barking behind fences.
RTE: I hope someone starts a lawsuit against prop 63
RTE: This article is worth reading https://shastalantern.net/2016/11/the-hidden-danger-of-calexit/
Joe: I hope a bunch of lawsuits against 63 get filed and get a preliminary injunction to stop it from going into effect
RTE: we sure have a bunch of crooks running this state
DeplorableBadBob: It's just amusing that all those city idiots who mocked Jefferson are now talking about setting up a new COUNTRY? Talk about ignorant.
DeplorableBadBob: The People's Republic Of California. Dumbasses. Not gonna happen.
RTE: But in the article you should understand how deeply Browns family is involved in oil
RTE: and why we have CARB
onion_grower: If you go to the Shasta county elections results site, you will see that there is often an election in odd numbered years. It isn't always. Those non-general elections have poor turnout. They tend to put school bonds on those elections to sneak them by having only the supporters vote.
onion_grower: I was a poll worker for one of those odd numbered years elections. We had about 20 voters the whole day.
RTE: 63 had the word 'Safety' and the dummies bought it
RTE: 63 might just fly back in the Lt governors face.. if it goes to SCOTUS
onion_grower: This election was a landslide in favor of the democrats in CA. They have a mandate to continue anti-gun, anti-veteran, anti-rural policies. The more Sacramento does to push drugs and crime into rural republican CA, the better as far as CA voters are concerned.
RTE: The Sheriff has the ability to challenge laws. Maybe Tom can sue Sacramento like Sheriff Mack did to the Brady bill?
onion_grower: The democrats want to push seniors out of the state by raising the cost of in home care.
RTE: So Tom is going to go after us?
Jarhead: Carl, Carl, Carl...I have a solution for you....give them to a dealer that has a large capacity magazine permit...I just happen to know one...
onion_grower: The democrats want veterans to leave CA. Veterans, like active duty, are more likely to vote republican.
RTE: Tom should sue the California legislators over this unconstitutional law
RTE: We are living in Nazi Germany
Jarhead: more restrictions on dealers as well... just more advantages also...
onion_grower: The democrats know this has nothing to do with public safety. It is a ploy to make republicans leave CA.
RTE: I wonder if there are restrictions on my hand held laser that can cut through steal?
RTE: I'm joking but I suppose there are such weapons
SYSTEM: Please welcome Sungold who just joined the chat.
RTE: Dick has a good idea
onion_grower: We don't need a bond, we need a county referendum just like measure D and E!
