onion_grower: Carl has a great blog on what defeated measure D. There is a zinger about "time out". This show played a role. Both sides got to present their arguments on Free Fire Radio. The newspaper was totally one sided in support of measure D.
onion_grower: The newspaper went all out to push housing first and they lost a lot of credibility.
onion_grower: When the newspaper went all out to push measure D, people saw it as another pitch to benefit the city staff.
onion_grower: After housing first, voters should not trust city of Redding and the newspaper.

RTE: WOW, I'm still alive.. lucky again
RallySally: They should have just asked for a county-wide tax to build a jail. That may have passed.
RTE: Well annex Moty's house,, It;ll do for a jail
RallySally: We are really in for it now-the Dems have a super majority in the Assembly and can pass any tax or law that they want.
RTE: that's why they call it qan ASSembly
RallySally: Of course, the "majority" of voters in California voted to tax themselves.
RallySally: OUR group still has not gotten it's tax status-it's been 6 years!
onion_grower: A county jail expansion and sobering center benefit everyone in the county. People in Anderson, Palo Cedro, Cottonwood, Shingletown do some of their shopping for taxable goods in Anderson and their communities. Shopping online is growing rapidly and the half percent sales tax collected by Amazon wil
onion_grower: Amazon will make it to the county via the Board of Equalization. Sales taxes for purchases from out of state sellers we report on form 140 will also.
RallySally: Even though the Judge ruled that the IRS had to do it by Nov. 11th. Still Waiting.
onion_grower: Instead of $11 million per year going to City of Redding, the county wide tax would mean $13 million or more per year going to Shasta County, so we could get the jail expansion sooner.
RTE: We'll have to play the Trump card to get our tax status
RTE: Maybe I didn't send it to you??
onion_grower: I don't trust the city of redding or their ally the Record Searchlight.
RallySally: I think you did, but I haven't watched it yet.
RTE: It's really creative
RallySally: What has the City done to make us trust them?
RallySally: We NEED A JAIL more than anything!
RTE: I like what Red said just before the end of the Jefferson State of Mine yesterday
RTE: I bet there's a FEMA camp up here meant for us that we can use for a jail?
RTE: Notice that when Trish is on there is no one on the chat that's on air,
RTE: What ever we chat, Bob or Trish will not read it
onion_grower: Agree we need a jail more than anything. The fastest way to get it is a county wide tax. Less risk that the city of Redding will hijack the money or block transfer of funds from city to county with lawsuit.
RTE: Looks like a good day today.
RTE: Can we still get a turkey to the office?
RTE: or is it too late?

Jarhead: why would they call Red Bluff in an emergency ? instead of Redding ?
Jarhead: tell her to slow down...she will stumble less ...lol
