Sungold: Happy Tuesday!
SYSTEM: Please welcome Ebaay_shopper who just joined the chat.
Ebaay_shopper: I was wrong yesterday. It was Sullivan, not Schreder.
SYSTEM: Please welcome Ebaay_shopper who just joined the chat.
Ebaay_shopper: Redding needs something like anewscafe but not so liberal, to replace the newspaper blogs. Donni Greenberg claims she is making money and just got back from a trip to Czech Republic.
Ebaay_shopper: The special interests which run Redding keep coming up with bad ideas like housing first and measure D. The newspaper does not carry the arguments against.
Sungold: Doni takes a trip to the CR every other year. She has a son, daughter in law and grandchild there. Her son help her with the website, a lot. Why do you mention A News Cafe is liberal? Is that important? She has many columnists who have their own opinions. We feel it is very well done, you can
Sungold: read what you want or not...your free choice
Ebaay_shopper: Anewscafe bans a lot of people who make arguments against measure D or pot growing.
Sungold: A New Cafe bans trolls or those who are rude and argumentative. She allows constructive criticism. However, if you are constantly negative rude or being a troll, you are gone, as it should be. If you don't like what is said, stay away
Sungold: We still have the right not to read what we don't like Ebbaay. If her columnists are not to your liking, simply do not read.
Sungold: At least she is not charging to read her articles, it is all paid through advertising and some of those who support her financially
ProducerBadBob: ANC has never claimed to be a totally unbiased media outlet. It's a forum for opinions. It's never claimed to be a replacement for the traditional media, more of an augmentation source. I don't always agree with Doni and company, but I respect the work that's put into it.
Ebaay_shopper: I have no problem with anewscafe and record searchlight as a place for liberals to voice their opinion. But what about the rest of us?
Ebaay_shopper: I think something less liberal would be even more profitable. You have no idea what gets censored on anewscafe.
Sungold: You are right Bob, we do not have to agree with ones opinions, but we do have to be respectful, polite and bashing is just plain rude. I also detest labels being put on people. We may be liberal at some times, conservative at others, we are all a mixed bag
Sungold: Ebbaay, I really don't care either. It is a privately run website and she has the right to run it the way she feels is best for her and her readers. If one wants negative and rude remarks there are all sorts of websites out there to fill that need. Doni is a happy, positive person and her website
Sungold: reflecks her personality. I do not read everything because some things don not interest me.
ProducerBadBob: Well seems she's doing OK following her heart.
Sungold: I enjoy reading her articles, even If I do not agree, I get a different viewpoint....and sometimes that is a good thing
Ebaay_shopper: The free fire radio show was the only place you could read arguments against measure D. Anewscafe censored arguments against it for not being "positive". The Record Searchlight was totally one sided.
Sungold: Like Hillary said one time, "what difference does it make now!" It is done and over with
Ebaay_shopper: I think there are sponsors who would support something like anewscafe, but which carried arguments against housing first and measure d.
ProducerBadBob: Well the Truth of Media is that no matter what you say and how you say it...you're gonna P*ss someone off... =)
Sungold: Early morning appointment.....stay safe everyone, always a pleasure to chat here in the mornings. Gets my blood moving faster, for sure! :)
ProducerBadBob: Hugs Sunny
Sungold: Right again Bob. Hugs back!
Ebaay_shopper: There is a need for a place which carries both sides of the debate, like free fire radio does.
Sungold: Enjoy the rain, and watch the lake levels come up. Keep your boots ready.
Carl: We try to. Thanks, Ebay
ProducerBadBob: Well, get together with a group of friends, start a GoFundMe account and ... do it. =)
SYSTEM: Please welcome CareLess who just joined the chat.
CareLess: You never know what to expect on this chat program. This time I see nothing going on??
ProducerBadBob: Welcome CL
ProducerBadBob: Plenty happening on the air. What have you to add?
CareLess: Obama doesn't care.. that is the problem.
Ebaay_shopper: Article one of the constitution describes the legislature. Article two the executive. I think congress will come up with something better than the ACA, which was drafted by the executive branch with no bipartisan input.
CareLess: I'd rather have no federal government in health care
CareLess: Leave it to the market
CareLess: Maybe the federal can have some oversight and help in a database common to all agencies
CareLess: The trouble with our old system was tort and that there was no across state competition.
CareLess: The reason you see a new item for every use is tort. Doctors get sued too easy
CareLess: How good is Plan F?
ProducerBadBob: Plan 9 from Outer Space
CareLess: I just signed up a friend to Blue Cross Plan F
CareLess: this is to assist Medicare A & B
ProducerBadBob: OK so you are asking Judy what she knows about Blue Cross Plan F?
CareLess: yes
ProducerBadBob: Plan F is the so-called "Medi-Gap" coverage for 64+
