SYSTEM: Please welcome Jarhead who just joined the chat.
ProducerBadBob: Hi there Jar
Jarhead: My little girl told me that her little sister should have been a little brother...do you think Russia had anything to do with it ?
Jarhead: BS...that boat could have been purchased locally
ProducerBadBob: Trust me they do not sell Boultons here...and they sure as hell don;t want a POS North River
Jarhead: the police do the same thing...buying their cars from sac
Jarhead: you can't tell me that if one of our LOCAL dealers called this compnay and said our community is buying one can we arrange toi buy it thru me...that they wouldn't have made the adjustment
SYSTEM: Please welcome Phillip-smith who just joined the chat.
Jarhead: i want in
Jarhead: enter 'Jarhead' and maybe I will get up there and dance... mu career will be started and someday we will pass in the street and I just may remember you all...lol
ProducerBadBob: Hey Phil you want to be entered in the drawing?
Jarhead: do they give me dollar bills while I'm dancing ? I'm used to that
SYSTEM: Please welcome TickTock who just joined the chat.
SYSTEM: Please welcome Mike who just joined the chat.
TickTock: I don't think you can have a "town hall" because of the Brown Act notice rules.
Mike: If you want REAL change, you need to find 3 votes to fire Starman.
Jarhead: they just can't comment but they can all be there
ProducerBadBob: Would be sorta pointless if they could not actually...you know....talk...
ProducerBadBob: Just have cardboard cutouts...wait...that's pretty much what we already have?
Mike: I believe using the "workshop" format would allow a "town hall" style meeting.
SYSTEM: Please welcome Sungold who just joined the chat.
Mike: "WORKSHOPS" allow for the gathering/trading info.
Sungold: Carl, I could not get here until just now, but here is how the City does their purchases or used to when I was buying
Sungold: Letters go out to various companies and local stores that the City is looking for vendors. There is criteria of course. Those companies must be willing to supply the city at a discount for one thing. When the City decides to buy they put it our for three bids
Sungold: Usually there is a low bid, middle bid and high bid. they rarely choose the high bid or low bid, usually it goes to the middle bid
Sungold: When I was there they rarely bought new furniture... one had to go to the storage facility and rummage around in the dust trying to find what you needed
Sungold: Peggy Linville was our treasurer then and she kept a tight budget and watched everything one bought
Sungold: Companies might very well be in Sacramento and may have been the winning bid. Our son is on the City of Sacramentos list for vendors and this is how they operated with him.
ProducerBadBob: My point is that a Patrol/Rescue boat is a very specialized piece of gear and you don't want to just slap it together with bits and pieces from here and there. At least if it was my sorry butt treading water after my houseboat sank.
Sungold: Of course, I know they even sourced from companies back east. After all, you cannot buy those huge waste trucks from a local person
ProducerBadBob: Marine Electronics installation is a VERY specialized field that requires heavy certification.
Jarhead: got them all together...easy to lock the doors and get some common ground built... or beat some common sense into them....first announcement one the doors close and are locked....gentlemen...if you are looking for your safe place...don't bother
ProducerBadBob: I know because I looked into it, and the certs were $10K+ and three years to get.
ProducerBadBob: That's assuming you have five years of prior industry experience, too.
Sungold: Sourcing from vendors gets to be very complex, I used to pick up supplies at Office Depot for my division and it all had to be done exactly at the City said.
Sungold: First I had to check to make sure our admin dept did not have what I needed, if not they I had to fill out an order sheet and take it to Office Depot
Sungold: Some local companies do not want to deal with the City because of all the paper work required to be a vendor, Now I suppose in the age of computers it is much easier
Sungold: Probably done online now anyway
Sungold: City used to have a Purchasing Dept. and they were very watchfull of what we all bought or requested, not sure if they even have that Dept. anymore
ProducerBadBob: The great Bob Rivers parody tune there.
Jarhead: what do you think the chances of the inevitable recall are ? its moving forward just wondering how burned out people are about politics in general
SYSTEM: Guest just signed off.
Jarhead: recall is building steam... not sure if the powers that be have the fortitude to fight it back...should be interesting
Sungold: Recall of what?
Jarhead: wow...that almost made we throw-up
Jarhead: Sun....Francie, Kirsten and Brent
Mike: Who's leading the recall?
Sungold: Oh, that recall, seems like so much talk about recall these days.....
Jarhead: lol... this must be the first time they have lost without receiving a trophy for participation... lets design a trophy for them.... wait..I just saw one in a field I drive by
Sungold: Time to get productive....have a good day all
Jarhead: have a great day Sun
ProducerBadBob: TC sunny
Jarhead: I'm in right ???...just put my stretchy pants on and started my stretching... just stretched my arm reaching for my coffee...that felt good...need to try that again... I like this dancing/stretching stuff
ProducerBadBob: Yes Jar, your name is in there.
Jarhead: oh man...I can feel the burn now.,..
Jarhead: this could be the first step towards the inevitable...Broadway !!
SYSTEM: Please welcome onion_grower who just joined the chat.
onion_grower: It has been a terrible year for USMC aviation. Another Osprey crash the other day. Five marines hurt, no fatalities.
Jarhead: if I don't win...I claim the Russians had something to do with it...
Jarhead: I want a recount !!
onion_grower: The Blue Angels pilot killed this year was a marine. He had gone through Top Gun in Fallon. You sometimes see F/A 18s over Lassen. Rare F/A 18 shooting the ILS at RDD.
ProducerBadBob: Someone once called me at "The Other Station" complaining "Why is the MILITARY using OUR Airport?" Uhm...because they need to train on different approaches to maintain proficency . You kinda want these people to be as practiced as possible, yanno?
