ebay_shopper: Brick and mortar retailing is failing fast. Redding is a retail center. Ten years from now, Sears, Kmart Macy's and a lot more will have closed. Sears Holdings owns Kmart and Sears and the stock is falling like a rock. Fell 5% yesterday. 3% today. Why aren't there online sellers in Redding?

ebay_shopper: The city of redding and the state of California have an ethical obligation to treat citizens fairly. I got a $229 ticket for going 25 in a school zone at 9:30 on a Friday morning.

ebay_shopper: In the three hours I spent in traffic court, I saw many bogus tickets by RPD.

ebay_shopper: My new hobby is avoiding shopping in Redding or California. I usually pay $1,000 CA income tax. I reduced the amount I take from my IRA and stopped selling winning stocks.

ebay_shopper: That $229 ticket is going to cost Redding at least $2,000, maybe $4,000 or more. I am telling as many people as I can about how to buy online from retailers which do not collect CA sales tax.

ebay_shopper: The chief should be monitoring traffic court where he can see the abusive tickets and officers. Abusive tickets don't make money, they cost. Abusive building permit fees don't make money, they cost Redding and Shasta county a lot of money by driving away investment.

Jarhead: Ebay...those transactions are tracked and you are asked on your tax returns if 'you have made any out of state purchases and have not paid sales tax' ...that needs to be claimed and paid, failure to do so is 'tax evasion' and selling "winners" in your IRA is not a capital gain so it is not a taxab

ebay_shopper: I was referring to winning stocks in my taxable account. Until all your credit card statements have to be reported to CA, your out of state purchases cannot be tracked. Since I started my new hobby, I get $1,000+ cash and buy things like a set of new tires, vehicle maintenance, etc in other states

When a cop is tailgating you, you don't speed up. The cop should have given me warning. In traffic court, the judge reduced by fine by $50 becaus

ebay_shopper: School zones aren't for giving tickets for collecting revenue for minimum speed. That ticket did nothing for public safety.

Hawperz: Redding City Council doesn't get it.

ebay_shopper: You had to be there in traffic court to see the abusive tickets. Most of the RPD should have been dismissed. Not a single one was. The judge is married to an RPD sergeant. Running a kangaroo court is so typical of Kurt Starman and the city staff which run this city.

ebay_shopper: We read many stories about how wonderful police are. That should tell you something. Police and lawyers are a conflict business. A significant number are bullies, alcoholics, domestic violence and suicide high risk.

ebay_shopper: When someone is making a pitch, be skeptical. Teachers, firemen, clergy, etc are helping professions. They are very different from cops and lawyers.

Helping professions like teachers, clergy, firemen, etc don't need public relations programs to polish their image. There are hundreds of people like me who were burned by RPD and we spread the word.
