onion_grower: The county should call a special election for a sales tax like measure D, but county wide. The recall would add very little to the cost of the special election, basically the cost of having a different ballot in City of Redding from the rest of the county.

onion_grower: The bandits at the city of Redding would have plundered the funds from measure D if it had passed. The county is much more trustworthy. We need a county wide tax for the county jail.

onion_grower: The county wide sales tax for the jail is the best way to build a jail, which would greatly enhance safety in Redding. Many petty criminals will move away if they face a night in jail before bailing out. Being released on own recognizance a few hours after arrest does not deter crime.

onion_grower: Shasta county had elections in odd numbered years in 2009 and 2013. I was a poll worker for the 2009 election. You can look up the results on the county elections department website.

Ebay_shopper: Congress will not approve state of Jefferson. It would set a precedent that rural republicans could form their own states. Congress will not less the U.S. go from 50 to 70 states. The Supreme court would be tied up settling the disputes between the new and old states.

Ebay_shopper: State of Jefferson is not achievable. As a USMC officer, Carl Bott is knowledgeable about economy of force. Wasting resources on an unachievable objective violates common sense and the rules of strategy.

Sungold: Just took our sweet Havanese on a trip to see family. We met a sweet Pie Bald dachshund, and a long haired, 9 week old dachshund. Not my favorite breed but these two were sweet and so comical.
