SYSTEM: Please welcome Sungold who just joined the chat.
Sungold: Happy Monday!
SYSTEM: Please welcome Joe who just joined the chat.
ProducerBadBob: hello
jimmy: Hello sungold and Bob. ;)
Sungold: Smart move FBI....makes one feel so safe
Sungold: Hi Jimmy
jimmy: Yeah SG. You would think if someone tells you they are hearing voices in thier head and mentioned ISIS one wouldn't hand them back a firearm
jimmy: Carl what is this i hear about California DOJ useing submitting firearm instructors personal info to an unknown entity?
SYSTEM: Please welcome Mike who just joined the chat.
ProducerBadBob: You think if the guy had been a Veteran they would have given the gun back and said "now play nice with others"
Joe: Redding boosting manager pay like this during a fiscal crisis and a crime wave just shows how incompetent our City leadership is
Mike: Nothing
Sungold: Totally stupid to have spoken to him and he admits to hearing voices telling him to join ISIS. Even I would know better than to hand him his weapon back
jimmy: alot of the crime is due to the rampant drug use here
jimmy: We need to get rid of the major heroin and meth traffickers.
Sungold: COR is slapping us in the face...Kurt Starman is not worth that kind of money. He is not a community minded City Manager
jimmy: trafficer's
Sungold: He is upping his salary, so when he retires he has a huge chunk each month
Sungold: He was there before I was there and my guess is he is very close to retirement
Mike: I believe Starman started in 1991.
Sungold: He was a 30 something then
SYSTEM: Please welcome CityRaises who just joined the chat.
Mike: Really, that's it. No more discussion. Now on to another promotion of Warren's T.B.
Sungold: T.B.?
Mike: Turtle Bay
CityRaises: Jimmy, was there any discussion about DOJ giving out personal info of Firearms instructors ?
ProducerBadBob: You mean the council ?
jimmy: That is what I heard on Jefferson state of mine
Carl: The DoJ accidently released info on firearms instructors to include their birthdate, driver license info and more. They are sending out letters to those it hit. Ted Lidey got one.
jimmy: AHH. OK
Carl: "accidently"
jimmy: yeah oop's
Mike: Gift shop discussion? Really...Got better things to do
ProducerBadBob: Care to elaborate, Mike?
Carl: Every segment is important. Salaries, safety next. LRRY vuplw od Development department on at 8. Lots of questions there.
Carl: Larry Vauple
SYSTEM: Please welcome XXter who just joined the chat.
jimmy: just to mention something about politics. I heard that Kamilla Harris was the first new senetor in 24 years. 24 years really? Talk about being intrenched.
XXter: What's really going on?
Joe: Permit process needs to be optimized to make life easy for the customer, and costs need to be slashed to the bone.
jimmy: senator
XXter: there's nothing but turtoes in turtle bay
XXter: How did Turtle Bay get it's name?
ProducerBadBob: Historically there are river turtles in those backwaters around the old quarry site.
jimmy: If anyone from Ireland comes here and says they are going to Eureka please, please tell them to stay away from the so called "Irish Pub" there. the owner couldn't pour a pint of Guinness to save his life. Not to mention the employee's playing mariachi music in the back
Sungold: When we traveled in our RV, we always noticed the Visitors Center sign on the side of the road. We always stopped to inquire about sights. Does Redding have signs for the center at incoming roads?
ProducerBadBob: There is that huge visitor center in Anderson, it's got good signage. and there's a USFS visitor center in Mountain Gate.
ProducerBadBob: Of course Whiskeytown NRA has the big center on the overlook.
jimmy: Hmmm, are there any tour guides in Redding?
jimmy: oh man dod you believe this ?
jimmy: Eric Holder in CVA, God save us
XXter: If anyone from Irland visits, is the war between the Catholics and Protestants over?
jimmy: Been there 3 times XXter, avoided that question at all costs
XXter: We should make Shasta county a sanctuary to preserve the right to bear arms
jimmy: But you can look at the security wall going through Belfast and it might answer your question
jimmy: or email Gerry Adams and ask him ;)
XXter: I don't plan to visit Ireland
XXter: What don't these politicians understand. We should not let government control our medical or we'll end up like canada
jimmy: awww, it is a beutiful country and the people are great
XXter: I lived on vancouver Island for 16 years.. I might return there.
jimmy: Canada? the place all those celebrities said they were going to move to if Trump was president?
XXter: Vancouver island is so beautiful
jimmy: I would like to check out BC
jimmy: how was it ?
XXter: the people are very much like we are
jimmy: as in we in SOJ/
XXter: the military type like republicans but the regular population has the same problem with socialism as our population does
jimmy: how are the gun rights there?
XXter: the Liberal party there is the conservative party... and the tories are like Democrats
XXter: It
XXter: its hard and expensive to get a permit.. but they didn't sign the UN treaty because of the gun rights issue
XXter: Obama signed us up and I hope Trump gives the UN the finger.
jimmy: lets hope so
XXter: so when it comes to the UN, Canada is more American than we are
XXter: I don't Kerry for the Obama administration
XXter: Larry moved from Hell to redding
jimmy: AHHA. How would he compare building permits here compared to Riverside.?
jimmy: I am in construction so be truthful
XXter: Ask Larry how much do you have to pay under the table to expedite permits?
jimmy: ouch XXter
Joe: a minefield of expensive bureaucracy = permit and planning process?
XXter: If RC had asked questions like that he would probably still live in Shasta county
jimmy: I do HVAC and yes Allianze is a good company. You will always hear bad things about any company, but it is the ones you hear bad things all the time. Allianze is definatley not one of those co's
jimmy: But dont tell my boss i said that HAHA
XXter: You're lucky I don't know him
jimmy: LOL
XXter: Love Ray charles
XXter: Us conservatives like Ray's music but did he vote conservative?
jimmy: a shell game
XXter: We need to have an island where they can't get drugs and they can dry out
jimmy: Can anyone answer this question.? why is it i have heard people tell me they have seen first hand missions and othe entities giving the homless a few bucks and a bus ticket to Redding to go to the mission here. THEN the mission here says the homeless are moslty from here. I dont believe the laterr
XXter: I think we could have a great organ downer program..
jimmy: unless they are tainted with hep c or hiv
jimmy: sorry brutal but true
XXter: discount prices
Sungold: Has Larry thought about seeking grants whch would pay for the hiring a couple of full time people to do code enforcement? Then develope a program using several volunteers and city staff to create a model program for other cities.
Sungold: It seems to me there are grants available to assist cities with some of these issues. OR, instead of Starman and others getting so many raises, they could hire someone from the city reserves. Nothing is going to get done with two retired part time folks
jimmy: sadley Sungold, it seems any funds that could be used for that are being sponged up by giving raises to people like MR. starman
XXter: yep
jimmy: ahh SG great minds think alike ;)
XXter: Our poor city employees.... they don't get raises fast enough
Sungold: That is just what I meant above when I said Starman is not community minded
XXter: I wonder if Starman served in the military?
SYSTEM: Please welcome drmaria who just joined the chat.
jimmy: The REALLY sad thing is thet the typical 9 to 5'er tax paying typical bugger does not know about all these raises and how much these people make
jimmy: Hi Maria, long time no see :)
drmaria: Yes Jimmy!! Hello!!!!!
drmaria: I love Testosterone!!! :)
jimmy: I know Carl wants to drag me there and strap me in the chair LOL
drmaria: Just go Jimmy - you will have a blast!
Joe: if the city had not given so many raises to employees we could afford full time sheep herders to manage our homeless population
Joe: and a goat herd should be added to the city staff, move it around to clean out the underbrush. 1. Eliminate fire hazard 2. Eliminate homeless hiding places
drmaria: Joe - I can donate my BC's
XXter: What we need to do is advertise that Sacramento gives better homless benefits
XXter: Free drugs in Sacramento
jimmy: What wee need to start is SOJ
Sungold: I love the idea of the goats....they do good work, keep on moving and ask for nothing except a pat on the head and more food
XXter: once they get there then Sacto has the psroblem
Sungold: Have to sent a goat herd with them, the homeless may look at them as possible dinner
XXter: That kind of sheep needs cattle prods to herd
ProducerBadBob: Naw, butchering and cooking something is entirely too much like work, Sunny. Easier to beg and steal your way to smokes, alcohol, heroin and cheap fast food
Sungold: Is Larry Vaupel related to Dr. Vance Vaupel in Redding (retired)?
Sungold: Ha, I see them in R&R meats buying some pretty good stuff from time to time
XXter: the key to getting rid of our homeless would be to send them to Florida where they can become alligator food.
jimmy: Sungold ,are you sure that wasn't me you seen when i am all dirty and grungy after work LOL
CityRaises: this guy doesn't want to say anything that could get starman down on him.,... doesn't want to move the needle...just gives it lip service..
XXter: When you get a permit, is it just a fee or is there something besides a piece of paper?
CityRaises: oh wait....a STUDY...well you didn't tell us that...a study should fix everything...HOW MUCH is this going to cost us ???
jimmy: question for guest. are the fee's higher here than Riverside?
XXter: mitigation is a scam attitude
CityRaises: mitigate... all it takes is MONEY... just pay the city a FEE...
XXter: sounds like extortion to me
CityRaises: maybe instead of us kicking them out of the county....maybe they should mitigate... just PAY US a fee
XXter: I don't like what our government has come to be
XXter: sounds a lot like Mafioso stuff
Sungold: LOL, I don't think so Jimmy, I know you would make eye contact and smile from time to time
Sungold: There is a difference between the hard working contractors and laborers (usually seen out at Kent Meats) and the homeless
XXter: I'm sure glad we don't have to put our real names in this chat room.. because I feel real hostile about what I hear coming out of Larrys gray matter
Sungold: I have a few times seen the homeless in Safeway's deli section ordering food.
SYSTEM: Please welcome KK who just joined the chat.
XXter: I'd like to do a study on whether we can do without a permits and plannig department
jimmy: From what I heard, the owners of R+R meats wanted to piant parking stripes in their parking lot. The city comes along and say's " If you paint stripes in your parking lot, you must also put in lighting and tree's' All of which they would have to get permits for. YUP
XXter: extortion
jimmy: yup
Joe: I was amazed when I visited the planning/permit dept in Redding and they told me that changing a garbage disposal to another of the same make and model required a permit.
Sungold: I love their big parking lot and so do the truckers who come in with those big loads. So much nicer for them too. Who needs strips. All it takes is manners and courtesy
XXter: I say have a study on doing away with half the jobs in our city hall
drmaria: BB!!!!!! You Rock!!! #BumpIt
Sungold: Joe, that is just plain crap! Jeez how many garbage disposals have we replaced, faucets, hot water dispensers, soap dispensers, etc.
SYSTEM: Please welcome CousinVinni who just joined the chat.
CousinVinni: By a permit from me and I can make your problems go away.
CousinVinni: Buy
drmaria: ^^^^^^Bahahahahahahaha
CousinVinni: Need to get rid of the homeless problem.. no problem just pay a fee
CousinVinni: Pretty soon permits will be as much as the items they permit to happen
CityRaises: they only care about the fees because they need to offset their raises... we are bloated with city employee (managers) it's time to PURGE
CousinVinni: I think costco could get off cheaper and provide more without government mitigation
jimmy: crickets
KK: The store that occupied the Carpet one store was earlier occupied by Sharon's Office Supply, I think the first occupant, did Sharon pay the impact fees also? This store opened before the big box office supply stores came to Redding and I am sure that it had more traffic thn the carpet store.
drmaria: "I, I, I"
CityRaises: and why shoulod he know that....he is ONLY in charge !!!
CityRaises: should
jimmy: herre we go
jimmy: BS
CousinVinni: This guy thinks government is god
jimmy: paint doesnt cause runoff DER
CityRaises: if I am starman....I find only people that are sheep and will continue my creation of a bloated public service group
jimmy: B.....S.....
CousinVinni: I say do a ten year study of what it's like not to have a city planning department
jimmy: circumvent, circumvent
Sungold: He is not answering the question specific to R & R meats
CousinVinni: These government hacks are going to permit us to death
CityRaises: they should be asking for taxpayer money to install toilet paper rolls on trees in the homeless camps...it's coming...schreder will introduce it at any time...lol
jimmy: we all know lighting will stop runoff
CousinVinni: We even have to get a permit every two years to defend ourselves
