Sheriffs office is making it simplier to renew CCW....most of it done online now. Just have to go in for payment, thumb print and signature. Hated those long waits when they were on Court St. Even with app't first thing in the morning, it was a two hour wait.

Well to be honest Tom let the backlog on new app appointments run to August of this year before he did something about it finally.

A lot of the backlog is not local...it's intentional by the CA DOJ. They make it as difficult as possible and are severely and intentionally understaffed by the Capitol Weenies.

Bob, yes the State is not helping speed the process, but they are taking 30-60 days for their part. Our Sheriff let the backlog (local) grow to the point that new CCW applicants could not get an appointment until Aug2017. That was a local problem.

And yes, our Sheriff did finally act to resolve the backlog that was within his control.
