Gary Cadd made the arguments against measure D on this show. His arguments spread by word of mouth.
NewDay:
he just needs to go....now...don't wait till May
NewDay:
D failed because of their leadership failures
Onion_grower:
Does Gary Cadd have a plan for the jail expansion? I think there is a way, which Cadd can support. The newspaper mentioned the trust issue. We need a way to build a jail which does not fail because of the trust issue.

CA passed a proposion which requires 2/3 vote for a dedicated tax. Can Howard Jarvis or some other group pass a proposal to lower that to maybe 55%?
ProducerBadBob:
Phone line is open, peeps, chat room going too fast to track in real time.
Onion_grower:
Counties across the state are going to need dedicated sales tax hikes to pay for jail expansion. 2/3 is too high a barrier. The Ds in Sac regard prop 46 as a huge success. There will be more measures to shift incarceration from state to local government responsibility.

Moro:

ProducerBadBob:
605-4567
Notasheep:
Larry and his managers received 2 pay raises last year.
Curt:
As always...Government IS the problem! We're paying alot for things the people can do for themselves.
Madaboutewe:
Every time there is a fund raiser that the Board sanctions, guess who they ask for donations?
NonBinary:
he said the employees took a 7% cut...how many raises did Larry get in the last 6 years ?
Notasheep:
$20,000 worth
RTE:
so if we get 13 cents on the dollar.. then at least cut the salaries 13%
NonBinary:
don't squander it...like paying 57k to a part-time employee...supervisors
Madaboutewe:
General Unit is still 2 percent down from the 7 percent cut. No cost of living g for us
RTE:
some of the supervisors are double dipping
firestar42:
The General Union is Shasta County isn't cushy, there are so many people that work on welfare qualify for welfare
Curt:
Cut gov spending in half...across the board...people step up to fill the voids
RTE:
I'm with you curt
Madaboutewe:
The anger at the Boss and Larry Lees takesy breath away!

NonBinary:
everyone cut 10% period...you have 30 days to submit your plan or you are fired
RTE:
county employees say they don't get paid that much while they drive away in their BMWs
Madaboutewe:
Let's get specific Larry
firestar42:
lolololololol General Unit Employees don't have mercedes
Notasheep:
The BMW belong to the upper managers and dept heads.
cherrillclifford:
It is not safe for contractors to complain. People who stand up to the county may end up having sudden interest in their business & property from various state & federal gov't agencies. There is retaliation.
Curt:
Enablers WE ARE ! Freebies bring in derelicts from everywhere. Then we wring our hands...What are we going to do?
Moro:
RTE I'm in the General Unit and drive a $1200 car.
Madaboutewe:
The money is there, you don't want to help with negotiations
Moro:
What kind of car do you drive while not on your high horse?
firestar42:
Again the people that run welfare often GET welfare, especially if they have a family
Madaboutewe:
We qualify for our own programs.
RTE:
I think the money will disappear before these wise guys will do the right thing and cut salaries.. you know like they tell us.. money grows on trees.
Notasheep:
So your are calling us stupid? We know. We read. We are smarter than you think.
firestar42:
Way to fail guys
Madaboutewe:
Higher level staff don't pay the Retiree Admin Fee.
Madaboutewe:
Why not?
NonBinary:
but there is nothing that says anyone has to stay in that job...don't like the job or the pay...find another job...move on...start a business
ProducerBadBob:
Two lines are open three minutes to end of show.
SYSTEM:
Notasheep just signed off.
Madaboutewe:
Will this take an act of God, Larry?
NonBinary:
not paying you what you think you are worth ? many successful businesses have been started for just that reason
RTE:
Hawes I hear has made 8 million on his mitigation bank... and because RC wouldn't buy in they railroaded him with permit requests
firestar42:
lol kay, better try and get with the City or the Hospitals
firestar42:
yeah, who needs tax money ... just heard how small your budget is
cherrillclifford:
Contractors have had many meetings with Lees & supervisors, etc. It changes almost nothing. The county is NOT "willing" to change for the better.
firestar42:
So is the County going to raise pay to match the city or the City workers take a pay cut?
