St Mary's in Reno, Carson Tahoe med center, Shasta regional and Mercy all go the same three stars of five on the recent medicare ratings. The medicare ratings are based on quality numbers, like death rate, complication rate, readmission rates for selected diagnoses.

It's OK if you like the area, I prefer the Pacific Northwest myself.

I hate to see talented young people staying in Redding when there are more opportunities with capitalism. So many people have lost so much money investing in Redding, Chico, Eureka, etc.

Lighthouses, getting fresh fish right off the boats, small towns where everything is locally owned, candy shops, cheese, small boutiques, walking on the beach, picking up dinner and going down to the beach and watching the sunset.

We stayed in Vegas once, I could hardly wait to get out of that place, so many drunks, overpriced shops, and noise. What did it for me was a group of guys so drunk they had to hold each other up, all complaining and saying nasty things about their wives.

Veterans should check out the VA hospital in Reno. It is a teaching hospital for UNR, the medical school where one of Carl or Linda's relatives got his MD.
