Shasta Lake is 20ft from full pool.
ProducerBadBob:
look for major release from Shasta next week before the next round of storms to make room in the lake.
Sungold:
Sounds like a nice fund raiser.

We are going to get another round of storms again, next week?
Sungold:
I have hear this lady speak several times, and read her book. It is amazing.
Sungold:
This lady needs a break, care-giving is not pleasant, and having to do multiple times can take a toll.
Sungold:
Sorry, I cannot recall her name.
ProducerBadBob:
We get a break over the weekend and then another storm system moves in Wednesday.
Sungold:
Debbie Sprague, just remembered
ProducerBadBob:
=) was going to have trish repeat it for everyone
ProducerBadBob:
Book "A Stranger In My Bed"
Sungold:
Wow, actually it is looking a bit scary, hoping the controlling dam agencies can handle all the water.
ProducerBadBob:
Shasta is holding back today but over the weekend will release a lot to make more room
Sungold:
And we don;t get a hole in it like Oroville did.
Sungold:
Twenty feet from the top is not much room, and it is filling up quickly.
ProducerBadBob:
The section of Oroville where the concrete spillway failed is pretty thick. And there is an emergency spillway over by the boat ramp.
Sungold:
It is weird how the storms seem to be on a schedule, rolling in mid-week, most of the rain is a night, then we get a two day break and a repeat follows
Sungold:
I have not been on that lake.

Oroville is a nice lake, great fishing and lots of out of the way coves to visit. Second largest after Shasta.
ProducerBadBob:
The dam is even taller than Shasta, but it's earthfill rather than concrete arch design. The hole in the spillway, while very alarming looking, poses no immediate threat of a catastrophic fail.
Sungold:
That is what I keep hearing on TV news. Time to get going here, stay out of puddles
