ljs: I am not an economist, but my intuition tells me that credit, not backed by real assets, is what leads to inflation.

rich_g: credit definitely encourages deficit spending

rich_g: "normal" inflation is a natural result of supply and demand. "artificial" inflation is when the gov't intervenes (interest rates, monetizing, minimum wage)

jimmy: does anyone here remember one of the first things the obama admin did? They made it so the credit card companies couldnt charge large fee for those who were always late or, didnt pay their dues. The credit card companies raised the rates for everyone to make up for the lost revinue.
