i own a mining claim , i dig by hand , use a small water pump , i make no surface disturbance , its not a fishery , i prevent sediment from returning to the river , and i have been prevented from producing any income on my mine
eddie515:
This is a great example of government overreach
eddie515:
Where is your claim, (Region)
eddie515:
Is gold panning still allowed
dredgernaut:
nevada county , near lake spaulding , ya , pan and hand sluice only
dredgernaut:

Erin:
How did the water board give you a permit if they have banned suction dredging?
dredgernaut:
ifiled my plan with them and fs , they went to site did inspection , sent me the findings , they said my plan does not create any water quality issues , no permit required , plan will be left to forest service to be managed under b.m.p. or best management practices
dredgernaut:
but im not dredging , i just need to pump water to a small trommel, that is hand fed , no suction at all ,
dredgernaut:
all motors are prohibited , ALL motors
Erin:
which is totally crazy
Erin:
Everytime someone says Sierra Fund I want to scream
dredgernaut:
i quit waiting for the ban to end , i started working above water , like highbanking , pump the water over to an area , use it , let it settle out and then return to river , no damage , washed material even returns to its original resting areas

eddie515:
Either one of you want to go on live and tell your story.
dredgernaut:
sent a pm
Erin:
The best laid plans don't always come together so we'll see if we can get Mr. Foley to come on with us later about the water quality issue.
Erin:
We're pretty sure that his phone died or he is out of range. He was on his cell.
eddie515:
Jeromy has a story that is told by many but few have heard
